Weapon Play over Roleplay
- When given the options: Roleplay or Shoot/stab etc. The answer to this must be roleplay. Hastily resorting to weapon play will be considered a fail in roleplay.
1. General Conduct
- a. **Respectful Behavior:** Treat all players, staff, and community members with respect. Avoid offensive language, discrimination, or harassment. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone.
- b. **Realism:** Embrace realism in your roleplay. Characters should act in a manner consistent with their backgrounds and the server lore. Out-of-character (OOC) knowledge should not influence in-character (IC) actions.
- c. **Breaking Character** You must remain in character at all times. There are ways to speak out-of-character when absolutely necessary, but doing it through your character breaks the in-game experience for you and those around you. If found going OOC then you will be punished with in-city community service (amount to be decided by staff).
PLEASE NOTE: The only place that you can speak OOC is the parliament building.
The parliament IS NOT to be used as a chill spot to talk to your friends, it should be used solely for issues that you may have in the city. It should not be used to avoid any roleplay scenes such as chases or fights.
In general terms, out-of-character themes include, but are not limited to:
- mentioning rules
- Reporting another player
- Calling an admin (unless your character is stuck under the map)
- Something unexplainable within the city
This also involves scenes where you break character with phrases such as “How did you not die”, “I got a clip of that!” or “You can’t still be alive after that”. These sorts of comments break the experience within the game due to you bringing rules into a scene. You are not responsible for ensuring anyone else is following the rules of roleplay.
If you do find that someone has broken a rule and has affected your roleplay due to them failing roleplay (for example, failing to roleplay injuries) raise a ticket including a full clip (medal.tv is a great option for getting clips) and a member of staff will review footage and conclude if any rules have been broken.
- d. **Server Restart** The server restart does not give you permission to go on a rampage. As well as this, if you are leaving the server after your session, this is not a valid reason to kill someone. There will be consequences for breaking rules, whether it’s 4 hours from restart or 1 minute before, robberies are to be finished 30 minutes before reset.
2. Character Creation and Interaction
- a. **Realistic Characters:** Create characters with realistic names, backgrounds, and personalities. Avoid clichés or unrealistic traits.
- b. **Meta-Gaming:** Do not use OOC information to influence IC actions. Your character should not act on knowledge they wouldn't realistically possess.
- c. **Powergaming:** Avoid forcing actions or situations on other players without their consent. Roleplay should be cooperative and considerate of others.
- d. **Kidnapping:** Kidnapping is not permitted unless you have full intent of roleplaying it. You cannot take someone to make them dance and then kill them.
Kidnapping is fine if there is a storyline behind it with some great roleplay for all involved. Kidnapping police for personal gain, such as your friend/gang member being cuffed and wanting them uncuffed, is not allowed. You must not hold a kidnapped person for longer than 1 hour. They must consequently be released or killed once the timer has reached 1 hour.
3. Server Interaction and Communication
- a. **In-Character (IC) Communication:** Use in-game chat and voice communication for IC interactions. Keep OOC discussions to a minimum during active roleplay scenarios.
- b. **Discord Usage:** Join our Discord server for announcements, updates, and OOC discussions. Respect staff and community members in all Discord channels.
- c. **Voice ID:** Players must not be identified by their voice if they are wearing a mask or any clothing which is attempting to cover their identity.
4. Server Assets and Modifications
- a. **Approved Mods:** Only use approved mods and assets. Using unauthorized modifications or exploiting server assets is strictly prohibited.
- b. **Custom Content:** Do not use or distribute custom content without approval from server staff.
5. Criminal Activities and Law Enforcement
- a. **Realistic Criminal Roleplay:** Engage in realistic criminal activities, adhering to server rules. Avoid unnecessary chaos or unrealistic crime sprees.
- b. **MET Police Roleplay:** MET Police officers must adhere to realistic procedures and rules. Use appropriate force, follow traffic laws, and conduct thorough investigations.
- c. **Baiting** You must not call for the Police/NHS when you don't require them. This particularly relates to when you are planning to rob, kidnap, or kill them. Repeatedly instigating police officers into a pursuit is considered baiting and this will lead to jail time in the city and a potential warning/ban.
6. Mechanic Role Rules
- a. **Realistic Repairs:** Mechanics must engage in realistic vehicle repairs. Do not exploit repair mechanics for personal gain.
- b. **RP Interaction:** Interact with players in a roleplay manner when providing mechanic services.
7. NHS (National Health Service) Rules
- a. **Realistic Medical Roleplay:** NHS members must engage in realistic medical roleplay. Prioritize roleplay over game mechanics during medical situations.
- b. **Emergency Services Coordination:** Coordinate with other emergency services during major incidents for a cohesive roleplay experience.
8. Job Rules (Generic Rules for Job Roles)
- a. **Job Role Immersion:** Immerse yourself in your chosen job role. Engage in roleplay that reflects the responsibilities and tasks associated with your job.
- b. **Job-Specific Conduct:** Adhere to job-specific conduct rules, whether it's following traffic laws for delivery drivers or maintaining professionalism for corporate jobs.
9. Reporting and Enforcement
- a. **Rule Violations:** Report any rule violations or issues promptly through the designated channels. Provide evidence when possible.
- b. **Enforcement:** Server staff will investigate reports and enforce rules as needed. Penalties may include warnings, temporary bans, or permanent bans based on the severity of the violation.
